My hood came up while i was driving

This just happened to me. Fiberglass cowl hood that I thought was closed flew up and caved in my cowl. No damage to hood or windshield but cowl was messed up pretty bad including my cowl cover with gauges.

And my thought is; If a fiberglass hood started delaminating hood pins sure won't stop it from flying up. If it's delaminating it's thin every where not just at the latch or latching mechanism.
10 yrs using a stock steel stock hood and not once did it ever fly up and so far 10 yrs with a fiberglass hood and the same results............. But there is always tomorrow.

well it would because your holding down the top layer of glass which is a single piece, a lot of hoods are made in pieces and added together this is where they fail.

same thing happened to me 2 weeks after I got my 95. If you have insurance better than liability you have a chance of getting it fixed cheep, mine came out to the $100 deductible. mine would have come out to over $5000 but that was with the fiberglass hood broken, blew out the windshield and new roof and windshield framing and cowl. And yes the hood was closed all the way. Even thought of throwing hood pins on a stock metal hood after that.
