me personally, esp if i have alum heads and i live in LA; when the temp gets over 200 i get uneasy.

Although the new cars today get run on some extremely hot temps, they are not high compression lol

So I bought an accurate water gauge and the actual temperature is right around 215 degrees with the air blasting at max. Even with the air off it still hovers at 215. The highest it has hit is 230 degrees in 102 degree Texas weather. The car is stock. I did throw in a 180 degree thermostat last week, but that did not do anything. So the question I have, is this too hot? My supercharged 95 does not seem to get this warm. It usually sits at the "O" in NORMAL.
I have the same problem. I Replaced the radiator with a Griffin 2 Core Performance radiator, new 180 thermostat, both temp sensors replaced, new CCRM, new 16 lb radiator cap. Still have the same problem running really warm but not boiling over except to flash
coolant back into overflow tank. I also check all my grounds. All good. I did notice that my low speed fan does not come on. ( I also noticed a fluctuation in volt meter as some else mentiontioned.) Some times out of the blue it will light off (low speed fan) and temps will run like they are supposed to. If you run a KOEO test the low speed fan will kick on momentarily and the the high speed will kick on.
****I have noticed that this situation is pretty typical with the 94 - 95 stangs.**** The question is what is the fix. Seems like the ECM is confused for some reason. JOEL5.0 recommended that I put a 2K resistor on the temp sensor to the ECM to test it. I have yet to try it, I have been out of town for the past month. I will give it shot today after I finish work and fight the heat. And post my results. I am really going to dig into this hard again and find a solution other than installing and aftermarket fan controller system.

Engine is stock with 14 degrees of timing, all pollution gear removed, O/R H pipe with FM dual chambers, Professional products intake, 65 mm TB, Optima yellow top battery mounted in the trunk. 75 k on the odometer. Keep it clean as a whistle.

the CCRM on the SN is a fire hazard waiting to happen, they burn up.
mine was already toasted and gone when i bought my car. they had the fan wired to key on power. i wired it to a switch, when the temp hits 160 ill turn it on. i tend to leave it on while driving, even though 45mph + the fan really doesnt do anything.
i guess about 80 degree outside temps, stock radiator, 180 t stat, decent compression and the temps stay at 180.

From what I have seen over the past several years the CCRM has been "the root of all evil" . Being that my Stang is 15 years old and the issues I have, decided hindsight is 20/20, REPLACE it. The wonderful world fo electronic fuel injection is definately a chalenge!!!!!

there are kits available that have a sending unit that kicks the fan on with a temp that you set it to. They seem like a great option to a manual switch, you just have to swallow the price ($100+).

I have looked into some of those options as a backup, Summit Racing, and some local speed shops here. By the way where in LA are ya. I used to live there years ago in Belle Chase and New Orleans (Early 70's). I still have a good friend there.
