I just finished my swap. Did the reverse though. I got rid of that junk T-5 and put a 4R70W in its place, pretty hard to do the reverse, tunnel needed much... modifying. Made me wish I started with an Auto Car. If you put a 4R70W in, you'll never look back. Picked up the 4R for $650 with 43,000kms on it, trans controller for $400, and just modified my T-5 Crossmember, and bolted right in. This isn't counting the Shifter (which you already have) as I have a B&M hammer, which cost me an extra 350 or something, then the 9.5" converter which cost me another grand, but this swap is definately doable for well under a grand if you don't need a shifter and don't care about having a performance converter.

5-spd's are no good if you're looking to go to the strip at all. Consistancy is key when it come to racing, not ET, which is the #1 reason I got rid of the T-5, and it won't hold up to the new engine.
