New to cars, looking for advice!

How are they money pits? A 93 GT 5.0 gets like up to 22 mpg? Are there other factors, besides upgrades, I can handle those types of things.

I get about 25mpg in my car, also they are called money pits, because these are 20+ year old 80s american build quality rides, you fix one thing something else breaks, its a never ending battle to keep these cars in running order

Umm, first off I'm pretty sure I was just asking him if it was real advice. I am a, "newbie", which is why I made this post, so you are the one who is quick to call anyone anything. I appreciate his comment and know that he wasn't being a dick, which is exactly why I asked. Also, mstngsule68, I thought you were telling me to look for a car with those things in it, that's why I thought you were being a dick, but I see that you were telling me to stay away from it. Thank you much and I'm sorry for the misunderstanding.

Yeah, I was raised a lot different than most teens out there trust me, my mom and my dad will and don't ever have to worry about me being responsible, but yeah I completely understand and thank you, hopefully when I get my car next year I can post some pic's and details. Thanks for all the help!

I agree with 86...a 5.0 is a huge money pit and not the wisest choice for a first car... I say get a beat up pos for like 200 bucks and learn how to drive in that... that way if you wreck it, no worries... its just a pos... not something nice...
and in the 1 year and 9 months Ive owned my mustang, Ive put nearly what I paid for the car in maintenance/replacement parts and I bought a fox that was in good shape... keep that in mind sensors burn out, gaskets crack, seals dry out, vacuum lines break, parts break, some vandal cuts a hole in your convertible top unless you pull the car apart (like some members have) its a never ending cycle of fix this, replace that.... I was talking with my mom today... every "mod" Ive done to the car was because something broke or was worn out the only thing I did to the car so far that I "didnt" need was the Cobra grille and my subframe connectors... my newer catback= PO did nasty sidepipes, my new clutch= I burned out the old SPEC stage II that was in it...and it goes on...
and remember, you never get back what you put into them...ever....
