Oil Level Sensor

Yeah, im not an idiot, and i check and change my oil regularly. My main question is, can i NOT run this sensor, and is there a way i can cut it off and splice the wires so it doesnt set off my CEL?

main reason is i got a Moroso 7 quart oil pan and it doesnt have a provision for this sensor, not like i need it anyway...
