Where can I find the wire to splice for the headlights? What color is it? An what other wire can I splice into to use the illumination to be easier than wiring it to the headlight?

Keyed source meaning where? Any example or advice where to put the 12v source? The easier the better!

But won't that make the light bulb in the gauge be on at all times? If I were to do that do I cut the wire in half then add the gauge 12v wire then tape it up with electrical tape? May sound stupid but I have never installed a gauge!

grab a test light and probe fuses in the fuse box while turning on the headlights and the one that lights up the test light when you turn on the head lights is the circuit you want, then go but a tap a fuse spade and piggyback off it for the power source

Ok so First I turn on the headlight switch and go through the back of the fuse box to see which one sets off the tester? Then I cut that wire, and add the 12 volt source from the gauge to it and reunite the other half of the headlight wire with the one I cut and the gauge wire, and tape it off with electrical tape? S0 the gauge will still work without turning on the headlight switch right? That's just gonna be for the backlight illumination?

no no no!!! no cutting period go to your local napa auto parts and they sell tap a spades that fit over the base of the fuse and you put it back into the fuse spot with the spade installed and now you can push a spade onto the tap a fuse
