Which Radiator, Is 2 1 inch rows enough. Be Cool? or 2 1.5 inch rows?
Here is my situation. I have for all practical purposes a fairly stock 83 5.0 HO Mustang. It is actually a Zimmer so there isn't alot of room for the air too move. I currently have a 3 pass brass radiator that the core is 1.5 inches thick and each row is .40 inches thick (1.2 total when all 3 are added together)
The cooling is ok when I don't use the a/c. When I use the a/c is gradually climbs but it takes a long time. I currently have a fan going all of the time off of the engine (not on a fan clutch) and I have tried a couple of pushers on the front of the condenser but that didn't help. It is a capacity problem. Everything in the system in working properly but I need a larger capacity radiator.
I want a radaitor that will more than cool the car at any temps with the a/c on etc. I have noticed that Be Cool and the others are 2 1 inch rows. I would prefer 2 1.25 or 2, 1.5 inch rows but the price of the radiator is quite high when you request over 1 inch rows.
What is everyones experience with 2 1 inch row radiators and which one is the best? Also do you guys think 2 1 inch rows will cut it or should I go with the 2 1.25 inch rows on a custom built rad? I live in the southeast and we regularly see 95 deg. temps.
