Default question about heads!?

I am looking to do a heads, cam, intake set up. I was wondering about the heads though. Would i get more bang for the buck if i were to get my stock gt heads ported/shaved and 3* angle job, OR get a set of gt 40 heads, OR find myself some trick flow heads? And of course i plan to match the heads with the same kind of intake. I am looking to achieve 300-400 wrhp

Don't waste your time and money on your stock heads, they aren't worth the effort. Trick Flows, AFRs, Canfields, Edelbrocks, would all be good choices if your budget allows. If you don't have the funds for aluminum heads, look for the GT40s, or GT40Ps.

no matter what you get... port the exhaust and do a little cleanup on the intakes

it'll go a long way, you can easily get 300 on the motor w/ iron gt40's and a little port work

Alright. I am looking to get the bbk ssi intake and some iron gt40 ported heads. i am getting shorty headers as well. What would be a good safe mild cam to throw in my block. Id like to keep this motor strong yet reliable since i have stock rods and pistons although i have put new piston rings in.

its pretty obvious to me for your goals you really need to step back and do some research. its cheaper to buy parts once and buy the correct items to help you achieve your goals then to buy parts twice and have to sell the parts YOU thought you needed
