Question cats or no cats?

im looking to get a new exhaust, i know i wana run long tube headers but will that interfere with the cats? or if anything can i just run the headers a h-pipe and then mufflers, without a problem? i just want to have the exhaust stop afters the mufflers and not extend past the axel, is this possible aswell?

I just ran pipe from the headers back on BBK lts. You will have to get a h pipe for long tubes if you want. It will sound much better without the cats. Im very happy with my sound.

the o2 sensors are before the cats so if you have them hooked up you won't have a light

to answer your question i have seen cars with the exhaust stop right after the mufflers so it can be done.

Don't bother with cats unless you have to pass emissions

The only thing that drag racing makes necessary is safety equipment. If you want optimal power on a built motor get longtubes. If your motor is generally stock and your staying stock, then they aren't going to help you much and will cause headaches installing.

If you have the O2's installed you won't get a check engine light. A set up that sounds real good in these fox-body cars is the MAC shorty headers,MAC Pro Chamber H-Pipe,and the MAC flow Path mufflers in the rear.

Nice deep sounding system.
