Default Clutch issue.

car is an '86 Coupe. when I purchased it the clutch was slipping, and the transmission wouldn't go into 5th or reverse. I had a brand new clutch in the shop that i purchased for my wife's '96 GT (turns out hers was converted to an 11" clutch) so i used the 10.5" in the coupe and replaced the transmission. when i got it all back together, the clutch would not disengage and i couldn't get it to go into gear. i put spacers on the cable thinking it was just an old stretched cable and that fixed the problem for a few weeks. i finally replaced the cable and it worked great for about 5 miles. now i'm thinking the problem runs deeper. any ideas? it has a triple hook quadrant, no firewall adjuster, i do have a stock quadrant but they look like they will extend the cable the same length. Clutch, pressure plate, pilot bear, and throwout bearing were all brand new at the time of install.

check the install height of the clutch fork pivot ball, and make sure you installed the TOB correctly

I know the TOB is installed correctly. what do you mean by checking the height of the pivot ball? it's welded to the bellhousing isn't it?

Nevermind i just checked a spare bellhousing. never realized you could adjust it. im sure it was bottomed all the way out.

What should the height be on it? or do i just need to make sure it's not work excessively?
