Exclamation 5.0 power issues

Alright I installed my new motor. Problem is it has no power, like its running lean. It threw some codes and ended up replacing an O2 sensor. It INTERMITENTLY Runs Good! Its runs sluggish and like its half throttle when its floored. And I have noticed when its actually running good it wont idle.. it wants to stall. But you step in it and it screams.. It runs like $H!T most of the time. Any Ideas guys?? Im really stumped and am out of ideas. I have tested my TPS, and MAF. Im getting desperate..

What codes did you get?

Have you checked your fuel situation?

I had a code sayin an O2 sensor was running lean and faulty. So I bought and replaced it. It also threw a code saying that the TP sensor was getting a crazy reading due to O2 sensor failure or somthing of that sort. And lastly my EGR is setting the light because I took all that $H!T off. Other then that its not throwing any code at all now other then the EGR. I have not yet tested the Fuel pressure.. That is the only Test I can think of that makes sense. Any thoughts or ideas????

I was going to say either MAF or vacuum and since you already checked the MAF, I'd also say vacuum. Does your idle ever spike? Vacuum leaks like to make the r's jump a lot too.

I fixed a couple bad vaccum lines. The Rpms never spike really, when im drivin and im slowing down for a light and i put in the clutch and brake the rpms hang just under 2 grand and slowly comes down and will idle at around 800 or 1200. How many vaccum lines are there on a 95?? O one thought.. Would my PCV cause this? in the backside of my intake is where its located but Im unsure where it goes. I dont have a very good diagram..

Cool

i would make sure your timing is set right to cause when i had to pull my distributor for something i was in a rush when i put it back in and didnt have it timed exactly where it was and it had a huge lack in power until i corrected the timing

if it was a pcv problem you would see oil around the back of your engine/transmission.

I've found ether (starting fluid) to be helpful in finding vacuum leaks. When the engine is idled down, a snort of ether will cause a small change in RPM's. Give a suspected area a split second shot and see if the engine responds.

Make sure you only use split second shots and give the engine compartment plenty of time to clear up before the next shot in case something should ignite the ether. Why turn a small "woof" into a eye brow roasting experience?
