T-5 grinding noise in 3rd
The T-5 in my car makes a weird noise when pulling through 3rd gear at wot. It shifts in to every gear flawlessly though. Is this going to be an expensive fix?
I am going to put my re-built 3550 in the car since no one bought it. I kinda want to fix the T-5 and sell it but, may just hang on to it for a spare if it is going to cost a lot to fix.

either the blocker ring for that gear is worn out or the synchronizer teeth on the 3rd gear hub are bad/mushroomed flat, you may end up needing that gear , only way to tell is pull it apart and inspect it.

i forgot to mention that is has some sort of aftermarket shifter and if I put my hand on the shifter and apply a little pressure it stops. I think the transmission mount may just be loose and causing it to shake making the noise.
