Arrow Timing Question..

I know these types of questions get answered all the time, but i got one that i haven't been able to find the answer to.

Alright so i have been messing with my timing lately, and the other day i slap the light on the car and look to see my timing jumping all over the place. I then realized i forgot to disconnect the spout connector. Anyways my car seems to run funny and the timing adjustments doesn't seem to be helping. I was wondering if the jumping of the timing could be causing this, with the connector in it seems to jump from before the 10* to around 20* or more.

Thanks in advance for the help.

Thats what it supposed to do. With the spout out the computer is not controlling the timing. Its just a base timing. If the timing is bouncing with the spout out you either have to much play in the distributor or your using a crappy light.
