Default Reverse grinding hlp plz.

Hi need a little hlp or advise here. When i go to shift into reverse it always grinds, i know its not synchronized, I have a 1990 stang lx , i have a rebuilt t5 in there, i have an after market clutch cable and quadrant, i also have a firewall adjustor. K i also adjusted the clutch using that dime deal i seen on here.

Still though when i go to shift into reverse it grinds unless i stop vehicle put into reverse and there we go? shifts fine into other gears. Any hlp of how i can cure this or any thoughts of whats going on would be greatly appreciated.

the vehicle must be stopped so it won't grind in reverse since it's not syncronized

Yep. And it's best to have the handbrake on if you're on a incline and then put it i nto reverse. The slightest movement will cause it to grind.

No, if you have the clutch engaged, which starts moving tranny internals, it will grind. As soon as you start the car throw it in reverse, or, other times, throw it in 5th gear, then put it in reverse. This slows the trans internals to the point of not grinding.

This is correct. Clutch must be disengaged AND the input shaft must be stationary before you engage reverse. Either engage a forward gear to STOP the input shaft or wait about 3 seconds before you enter a non synchrozized reverse gear.

hmmm my car makes me go to neutral first, it won't let you go straight from 5th to R.
