I got a 89 mustang. And my friends keep telling me that when I floor the car a cloud of smoke leave my tail pipe. Some one keeps telling me it's blue smoke. What's does the smoke mean and is it something I should worry bout? What should I do bout it?

prob just burning some oil. or a bit rich.

could be a lot of things.

it means your engine is toast... time for a new one

Basically. I just tore mine apart, it was doing that as well, its not pretty.

this usually means oil is getting past the rings...so time for a rebuild

it also could be your valve seals leaking under high oil pressure

time for some seafoam! LOL actually I myself have no experience w the stuff.... afraid to use it, but my car doesnt smoke ...yet LOL

valve seals dont leak because of oil pressure.

if you had ever seen inside an engine before, specifically, a SBF.. you would know that any "pressurized" oil, doesnt go ANYWHERE NEAR the valve seals

Someone can corect me here but I think a little blue smoke upon nailing it to the floor is okay. I used to see smoke out of all my cars when I nail it sometimes...
