MT's are much wider than most tires. their 255 would be like your 275 normal tire. good idea with the caliper....i think i have something big enough, or i can make something

If you have a tape measure....and I am sure you do....... just stick it thru the spokes and measure the wheel.....can't be that hard now can it??? lol

The 275/50 ET is 10 inches wide at the tread. A 275/60 tire has a 8.9 tread width. A pretty good difference. A 15X8 with a 4.5 inch BS is at the edge of the wheel well. So with a 3.75 it will stick out even farther. You will definitely have to roll the fender but you will def be pushing it on the outside.

ok i made some calipers and measured my rim. it is the 15x8. so can i fit 275/50/15 MT ET streets?

It will fit the wheel but if it fits under the car is another question.

That tech article has a nice example for wheel spacing. With that 15x8 with the 3 3/4 BS is gonna stick out more so your quarter is gonna interfere some. That more depends on how low the rear of your car is gonna sit when you are done. It will stick out though I can tell you that.
