I have a 94 gt with a tremec 3550 and a steeda short shifter in my car. at high rpms the shifter seems to make so rattling noise. what could be causing this? it seems to do it more when the car is in 2nd and 3rd gear. any suggestions?

do you have the 5/8" driveshaft spacer installed?

no but i have had the tranny in for about 2 months and this problem just started. i was told with my stock gears in the rear that i would be ok without the spacer because i have 4 inches on yoke in the tranny and 5/8th wouldn't hurt

that 5/8 makes a difference.. over the two months, you could have worn out the tailshaft bushing

my t-5 does that in third gear at wide open throttle. My car also has some sort of shifter

sort of sounds like a rattle

I have had a mechanic ride with me to the casino one time that thought the transmission mount was loose. Or better put, he asked if it was loose.

Another guy around here decribed that noise from his 240sx. He is pushing around 515 hp with nos and 450 on the motor. . . I guess it could be an internal problem. . .he ended up with a c-4

also, what is that 5/8 spacer you guys are talking about?

when you put a tremec 3550 in the sn95 cars they are 5/8" shorter than the t5 that came in it so they make a spacer to run on the end of the driveshaft
