use the blue fel pro gaskets!! and not any one with sticky pull off crap, and with the fel-pro blue gasket use permatex's the right stuff = never had one not seal done in this manner, and I often jack the front of the car up so as to tilt engine so coolant won't run out of the intake while doing the job for a clean seal

hahaha. I found out the answer to the riddle. Here's the short story:

Recently, my vacuum gauge has been decreasing.. It ran at 5-7 the other day right as my brakes pedal was hard as a rock. It sounded like a cat hissing underneath the hood. Long story short....I found out the following yesterday:

1.) Theirs an internal vacuum leak inside the brake booster.
2.) The wrong spark plugs are installed. Stock version is on there (25) instead of Autolite 3923's. My previous nit-wit of a mechanic installed the wrong ones. That was my laziness - I should have done it myself.
3.) Also, now I can reset my timing from 10, when it should be set at 13 or 14. Of course on every car it can vary.

I'm replacing the entire front brake system... two brake lines, calipers, rotors, pads, booster, master cylinder. Also, an adjustable fuel regulator, msd ignition box, new spark plugs.

Now, I know I don't need the msd box or the afpr but, theirs supercharging plans down the road and the msd box won't hurt.

i believe they use 3924's, 3923's are a step colder, all the aluminum heads for the most part I know of require 3924's

yeah, I'll double check then... that's what Ford Performance Tech told me.

What do you think of all the other stuff? It's been a long time coming.

chol -- my problem with my 94 sounds the same, but i am just starting out. I have a 94 EFI engine with a T5 tranny that has been placed in my 61 Ford F-100 truck. I certainly do not have the stock front brake system (although they are disc brakes). Do you think the vacuum leak in the brake system (which is brand new, by the way) could be my problem? Or should i instead look to the plugs/gap, wires, distributor, o2 sensors?

well no responses thus far. Discovered something about all this between last night and this morning. You see when it does it to my truck, it does it for a long time -- or tends to stay that way. I tried turning off my car at a stoplight and when i turned it back on it cleared up -- everything was normal. I did this a few times, and 4 out of 5 times, it worked just fine. Does this narrow down what it could be?
