Default Need some help/advice

So it just so happens im having horrible luck, I bought my 1991 GT 5.0 on saturday, drove it monday, and had the water pump blow on me today, needless to say the engine nearly overheated. After several hours under the hood i managed to replace the waterpump completely. No leaks works great. But as I started the car up its making a weird wurring noise in the rear, near the tires i suppose, i hadnt noticed before. the car has no cat's, just an x pipe. Any ideas what could be going on??

Welcome to MF

Glad to hear you got it fixed. If anyone else has a blow out in the hot weather we carry some nice pumps.

Here's a link to them.

Are you sure it was in the rear and not the fan clutch kicking in.Does the car shake or anything when it's driven?Or does it get louder?

Stock rear end gears rarely make those noises. Jack up the car, count how many times it takes to spin the driveshaft to make the wheels spin one time. This will tell you what your gear ratio is, unless you already know if you have aftermarket rear end gears.

For example, 2.73:1 means the driveshaft spins 2.73 times for 1 turn of the wheels.

If your gears are not 3.08:1, chances are the aftermarket gears are whining because of an imprecise installation.
