Default F my life...

Today I tore down the front end of my 5.0 to replace the rotted expansion plugs, went to 4 different stores, nobody carries these here finally the girl behind the counter hands me one, I compare it to the old one, looked close enough, get home, use a socket and hammer to drive them in, and realize that they went in way too easy, I check the plastic bag, and it says 1-31/64" and I know 5.0s take 1-1/2 right?

*** my life...

well I just put everything back together and said *** it. Will these plugs do the job or should I explect to be replacing them soon....

wow, patience grasshopper. alittle rough on yourself. they have the rubber expandable freeze plugs.i would do that instead of putting a smaller one in.i dont know how easy it went in , most rad. caps for these cars are 16lbs. that would suck to blow that out going down the road.

advance and auto zone etc normally carry a full set of freeze plugs on either the radiator hose etc aisle or in the "Help" sections

make sure to buy brass not steel ones
