What Seals or O-Rings for Power Steering Pressure Line ?
I've already beat the search engine to death ....
I've got a (new) 92 PS pump in a 5.0 to 67 Cougar Install
... custom PS line was made with used 92 Pump pressure fitting.
What seals or O-rings should I or can I replace at the pump ?
... one seal in groove on fitting to pump looks pretty good (I picked and chose the best fitting + O-ring from several in the boneyard).
When I install the hose in the pump, it spins freely .... is this correct ?
The new pump came with a funny looking O-ring inside a teflon sleeve ... I didn't see this on any of the hoses I pulled in the boneyard.
Does the funny teflon thing + o-ring actually work on a 92 pressure line ?
Anybody got a drawing of the correct (92) pressure line + o-ring and/or seal locations ?

The teflon ring is correct. Power steering systems work in such a high pressure range that a rubber ring wouldn't cut it. If it doesn't fit snugly where it's supposed to go, bring the line to your local auto parts store. They should have a tray full of different sizes.

Phew ... good to know that I have no concern about the teflon ring .... (my rack is an aftermarket unit which uses a different type of fitting on that end)
So .... I already have an o-ring on the pump end (in the groove at the "tip" of the fitting),
but (as I've heard other people say) it spins freely after tightening it into the pump ...
.... how is this thing going to seal with it so loose that I can "spin" the fitting by hand ?
