5.0L (1979-1995) MustangTechnical discussions on 5.0 Liter Mustangs within. This does not include the 5.0 from the 2011 Mustang GT. That information is in the 2005-1011 section.
they did all for 1,036$ too. pretty impressive. find the article of MM&FF if possible.
only prob is that was flywheel not rear wheel hp............personally I'd shoot more for of an et goal, the op may not need 400 hp if his et goal is lower than we anticipate
400 horses at the wheels, you can put money on the transmission going. My car should be close to 280 or even 300 horses at the wheels and I wouldn't trust my t-5 to hold up to it at the track.
Of course i don't granny shift either
that is why the t-5 is coming out ahead of time and the 3550 is going in
By not granny shift, do you mean you don't shift normal, i.e. clutch, shift, release clutch? If so, what would be the advantage to shifting another way, such as double clutching (think vin diesel) at the track, where your up-shifting?
would not recomend to many power shifts on a stock trans, had a buddy who blew his t-5 to kingdom come by doing this! lol,
If you want 400hp look into doing a nice heads, cam, intake combo with exhaust, cai, injectors, fuel pump, maff, Throttle body. Then get it tuned, figure out were you are at and add nitrous until you are happy!

As for an et I like to eventually be in the mid 11's, but as for now my goal is to get into low 12's. The main reason I want low 12's or high 11's my brother has a 69 camaro that runs right at 12 second quarter mile.....a little sibling rivalry.
