i have a aod in my car and it goes in and out of gear fine but it wont shift out of 1 gear when in drive any help would be appreciated

How does the fluid look and smell? If it's brown and smells like garbage (more stinky than normal auto trans. fluid) it probably needs to be flushed.

it looks fine i just rebuilt the engine in the car and the torque convertor fell out a little and lost fluid so i filled it the rest of the way and it still wont shift and the tranny fluid looks like new and smells like new so i tried adjusting the tv cable and it didnt help at all are aod trans from trucks diff from cars cause this was orginally a 4 banger and they did the swap but idk what all parts they used everything in the trans is plugged in and hooked up

could it be the valve body needs cleaned?stuck governor?the trans goes in gear perfect any ideas?

How did you set the TV cable?

the way it is said on the youtube vid
i read in a diff. spot that i could put it in neutral and then set it with no slack?
also if this is any help it seems like when it would be time to shift if i let off the gas and then push it again it seems like it slips at first?
