5.0 Question
I have a quick question. I picked up a 5.0 302 crate motor with less than 1000 miles on it with AOD still attached. The transmission had just been rebuilt. He is convinced that the motor is a H/O. I have the engine here now, and I am slowly pulling stuff off of it. I have been searching the internet hoping to find a good way to tell if I have a H/O or not. The top of the plenum does not read H/O. I have read that if it has tube headers it is H/O, cast iron headers non H/O and this is cast iron headers. Figured I'd join the forums here and see if I could get a better answer than I have been getting locally. I have block casting numbers E7TE 6F19. 87 Truck Engine, June of '96. Was supposedly ordered as H/O, but am still very curious. Any help greatly appreciated.
