Default steeda tri ax?

ok guys i have a steeda tri ax shifter for a t5 and i have a few questions.

#1 when i go to put it in i heard that i should change the tranny fluid while im at it so my question is exactly how much fluid does a t5 take?

#2 can a steeda tri ax shifter handle for a 05-09 tri ax bolt up to a t5 tri ax shifter and does anyone have this done already and if so does it feel right when shifting because it looks like if it would fit it would shorter the reach and heith of the shifter.

thanks guys for any help you can give me to answer these questions.

o and fyi i want the 05 to 09 handle so i can use my new roush shifter ****!

The 05+ uses linkage and is a completely different trans.

Before or while you're doing the shifter swap, drain the fluid and when you have the old one off and before you bolt on the new one you can fill it up from there. Just have the fill plug out and a drain pan underneath and when it starts to come out of the fill hole, put the plug back in.

Ok sounds good guys thanks for the help.

As for the handle I realize that the shifters are different but the handles are very similiar except the 05 is basically straight and the t5 has a couple bends in it they look like they have identical bolt patterns and I heard once that they were capatable handles. Can any one confirm this?

I just did what I posted earlier, but didn't let it drain all the way as the rans fluid was looked literally brand new, and 2 quarts was more than enough to top it back off so 3 quarts would be enough for a simple drain and refill I'd imagine.
