Default Cam gear rubbing

Hi All,
Wondering if anyone had issue with the cam gear rubbing against the thrust plate. I had the old 'cast' one replaced with the FRPP hardened plate and still have the same issue. I'm using a Cloyes billet dbl roller.

Yes, actually rubbing on the plate. I marked the bolt heads and plate and the bolts were fine , it was rubbing against the plate (inner edge). I noticed the rubbing noise when I was degreeing the cam and took everything apart until I located the source. I've had several people say this was "normal?", and that I did the right thing by changing the plate to the hardened one since using billet gears. I just think any rubbing would/should be a concern.

What's your current camshaft end play measurement (should be .005 - .0055)?. If it's too tight, this could cause the problem you're experiencing.

It's at .009. the closer i look at it, the cam plug appears to be slightly pitched
