Curious about factory installation
As I lay under my car this afternoon, preparing to pull the motor and trans to be removed for overhaul, I got to thinking about how they were initially installed at the factory. Is there anyone out there who worked for Ford building Mustangs or maybe knows how the process worked?
My only real question is: Was the Engine/Trans assembly installed from the front of the car or from the bottom and then having the suspension installed. It seems to me the more likely/easy way to do this would be to install from the bottom, install the suspension and trans mount and move down the line... I've seen assembly lines before and some go in from the top down at an angle and others come in from the bottom.
just curious.
