'94 Cobra mods, part one and part two
I decided recently to mod my otherwise stock '94 Cobra. The first round consisted of Magnaflow catbacks, BBK U/D pulley’s, JLT CAI and a performance chip. At WOT, the engine would cut out at around 5,000 RPM. I added an HO fuel pump which solved the problem. The performance increase was noticeable but not quite what I expected.
Round two consisted of a BBK X-pipe with cats, BBK 70 MM throttle body and a Steeda short throw shifter. Not knowing what to expect after the underwhelming first experience, I was blown away the first time I jumped on it. The low end response has improved a ton over stock, but especially after the second round of mods. I won’t be keeping up with any ’04 Cobra’s, but I think she’d match up pretty well against my ’97 4.6 4V.
Now that it’s cooling down a bit out here in the desert, I can’t wait to make a few passes at FIR. Not sure what the point of this post was, but I’ll definitely post the numbers from the track… I’m hoping for around 13.80 or so…
