Default Heater Core

Hi, I been using this walkthrough: http://www.mylrs.com/blogs/lrs/archi...placement.aspx

but my question is Im using an aftermarket heater core might have came from autozone but i think it came from ebay, which looks like the one he decided to use. And im going to be going with a flow resistor (read 13m socket) in the heater hose but which one do i put it in/which one is the incoming.

But my real questions would be:
1) should i scrap my aftermarket one and get a Ford heater core
2) I read that i need to clean out the box, but do i go with sealant inside the box or just to seal the top? Im a little confused.

I think your making it too complicated...just don't worry about the socket at the moment I have been running my new heater core from autozone for almost 4 years now with no problems.
