Default 94 5.0 engine pinging

ok this is my first post so bear with me. i bought a 94 mustang gt this summer and havnt had a single problem with it. i put on a bbk off road h pipe and flowmaster 44's. when under heavy throttle the engine makes an ugly pinging sounds. is there any way to eliminate this? i run only 87 octane fuel because ive read there makes no difference to switch to 93. anybody else have this problem?

switch to 93 and see if it pings... if it still does, try a good seafoam treatment.

you heard alot..lol what you should of heard is they are a waste of money and will solve nothing related to your problem.....do not waste money on a chip all they basically do is change the timing curve and require then you use high test gas, you can advance the timing yourself, but don't touch it until the pinging issue is resolved or it'll only amplify the prob you have

Anything 89+ should eliminate the pinging. Our cars are notorious for pinging, thanks in part to iron heads, iron block and "Ford's" genius tuning!
