Default Need Advice

My list of mods are in my signature. I've been running my car every Friday night and my best time thus far is 14.56 @ 94.5 MPH with a 2.064 60 ft.

Now granted I am @ 3500 ft above sea level. But I feel like Im leaving some power on the table.

I have tried drag radials, added lakewood 50/50 rear shocks, and tuned this thing to the best of my ability and it's not getting better.

1. Could I be overcarbing the engine?
2. Do carbed engines like more timing?

Any suggestions greatly aprreciated.

PS I have done all weight reduction I can do.

I personally think that carb is alittle big for your set up. Im running a BG 650 and we had to change everything (jetting down) to make it run the way we wanted it to. If you dont have them already 1.6 roller rockers would help some. If you search my threads my car is very sinilar to your but I thing I have alittle more done and Im running 1.5 sec faster but Im also at only 500ft.

Carb has been jetted down due to elevation and I also have aftermarket U/L control arms in the rear. So suspension wise I should be ok.

I have ran it both ways doesnt seem to make a difference.

Its a stock short block (306). The heads have been "slighty" ported. Stock GT40 valve size. Im running BBK Shorties, BBK O/R H pipe and Mac produmps.

It should be running better, even at your elevation you should be atleast high 13s on DRs. About all you have left is roller rockers, and good ignition and maybe drag/4 cyl springs. What are you leaving at?

I do have 4cyl front springs. I run the same with my street tires as I do with my drag radials. I have left @ idle, 1500, 2000, and 3000 RPM. It doesnt make much of a difference. It feels better launching @ 2000 but time slip doesnt show it.

On DRs your should be able to launch higher and get better 60's and better times with them if they arent wore out and the pressure is right. My car is very similar to yours and Im launching at 3500 off the 2 step and Im getting 1.6-1.7 60's and trapping 12.9xx at 104ish.
