Default Major shake\vibration

What would cause my 1994 GT to have a major shake/vibration whenever the accelerator pedal is released? The engine and body both shake severely and then dissipates with 10-20 seconds. I believe it is either an ignition, engine control or fuel system issue.

sounds like the harmonic balancer is shot

with your car running and idling, take a look at the balancer and see if it's wobbling.

You need to elaborate a bit more on this.

Is it rpm related or just when the rpms are ramping up.
Neutral or while driving?
Is the engine running well or misfiring?

I have a 89 GT. When it gets to a crusing speed of around 70 it starts to vibrate. I can feel the shifter vibrating realy hard as well. Its only when i am at a speed of over 70 or so. When its getting there it seems to be smooth, but once it plains out at that speed i have this problem. I did have a plug put in the back tire and also changed my gears to 3.73. I cannot figure it out
