Default pinging at 10 degrees timing?

hey guys i was told by the smog shop that my timing was only at 7 degrees on my stock 5.0. it runs strong and doesnt ke it lags or anything. so i set it to 10 and it feels way better, but if you get on the throttle at freeway speeds it pings. i thought 10 degrees was the stock base timing?

roll motor up to tdc and check where mark on balancer is, and if balancer is not spun then it may be carbon build up in the chambers/on top of the pistons and a good seafoam treatment will cure the issue

if seafoam fouls the plkugs out during the treatment then yes but if not don't worry
