MY CARB IS A STOCK 600 CFM HOLLEY...there is no way it can be to big... aswell we also tryed putting in smaller jets and that didnt do anything... i ahve had a few people tell me it is running to lean which is the opposite of what you tell me... and the others say that because there is no back fire that tells you that the problem is not to much fuel... i ahve no idea.... what do you think about it now..??

Your running WAY too rich if your secondaries are killing the power.

Woa...back fire? You don't want backfires....

My son has a'72 Montego, 351 windsor with a 650 Holley on an Edlbrock performer intake, stock heads. Have you checked the timing advance with a timing light? On his, the carb. vacuum advance port was pulling the dist. to full advance when the throttle was opened. Wouldn't run worth a hoot. I drilled a 1/16th hole in the hose right at the dist. and it works perfect.
