Then you probably shouldn't be driving a Mustang. Selling it and buying something more fuel efficient would make much more sense than doing a 4cyl swap...

Amen to that. Think of all the money you would spend to convert it to a 4cyc and think of how long it would take you to burn through all that money in the form of gas...

Had it tuned? You can get around 30mpg out of a near stock 5.0 if tuned well. the 2.3t swap is probably going to set you back I'd say around $600 at minimum.
