Left Bank Lean, Low Idle, Need Help!
Alright I'm majorly stumped here and any thoughts or suggestions would be soo greatly appreciated!
I'm running a 95 5.0 convertible automatic that is bone stock aside from a cold air and an aftermarket X-pipe.
To start off my check engine light was stuck on for about a month. I pulled the codes and got a left bank rich, left bank lean, and a fuel pump circuit code(I can't remember which one). So the left bank HEGO seemed to be the most likely problem as it is tied to the fuel pump circuit. I got my multimeter out and did some tests on both HEGO sensors and verified that the left bank was fried. I replaced the sensor with a brand new Bosch and cleared the codes. No CEL for about a day after so I thought all my problems were solved. Then the CEL started flashing on intermitently from time to time which started to become more and more often (seems as though it comes on when I step on the gas). Pulled the codes again and I got a 189 (left bank lean at richest adaptive limit) in the continuous memory, and the KOER codes were 136 (Left HEGO Lean), 536 (Brake On/Off circuit failure / switch not actuated during KOER test), and 632 (Overdrive cancel switch not changing state (E4OD)).
It appears as though it isn't getting enough fuel on the left bank, so the first thing that came to mind was a possible fuel injector problem. I tried to run the cylinder balance test 3 times, each of which the car ran through the test fine but at the end instead of giving me a pass code or a cylinder fail code, I got a code 88 (Which I believe is idle speed out of self test range) the first time, and the second and third time a code 37 (I think System Indicates Rich At Idle (R) but not positive). Also within the last week or two my average idle has dropped to about 600 rpm and occasionally the car will stall out or shut off during idle, but will either catch itself before it dies, or start right back up if it does.
I am by no means a diagnostic expert so I am stumped . If anyone has any ideas they would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
