Default pistons

So is there a special tool to put piston rings on? Or certain way to assemble? haha think i should go look for my haynes hints or tips?

yes,ring compressor. do not let any of the ring openings match up

oh dang I read wrong,I thought he said in,and I also put them on by hand,just the way I've always done it

Most piston rings have some sort of a mark on the top and second ring. This needs to be facing the top of the piston.
Yes, a ring expander tool. Only need to buy one in your whole life. I think they are less than $20 or so even nowadays. With it you'll never break or twist a ring ever........

Hi,

+1 to what everyone else said. Some people keep the piston ring gaps at a 90* angle from one another, including with the oil control ring.

You can use your hands if your to cheap to buy a ring expander. You will probably break a ring or 2 though, best to just get the tool.
