Default brakes lock up easy

I got newer front and rear brakes ALL STOCK drums and all. I just dont feel like I can stop quick and i usually lock up the front tires pretty easy usually the front right. Do our foxes brakes suck that bad stock??

Newer front rotors newer pads 90% rear drums are 85% all new hardware.

Pedal is pretty solid brake lines dont leak theyre rusty as hell though. I'm undercoating my car next weekend.

WTF why do I feel like im never going to stop fast and i lock up if i try to hard to slow down.

Hi,

Id check the front calipers to make sure the piston is not binding. I would also do a visual check on the brake hose going to the calipers, checking for bulges, kinks and such, particulary on the right side of the vehicle.

air in the lines will cause a premature lockup as well.

Bleed the brakes, also pads need to be bedded properly as well. But get better tires. Brakes don't stop the car, they stop the wheel from rotating. Tires stop the car. The best brakes in the universe are completely useless without tires that have effective grip.

Fox brakes are not THAT bad. Just gotta know how to adjust them and keep them in check.

Brakes on Fox bodies are inadequate in the stock form, there is no way around that. You have pinto drum brakes on the rear, and no ABS. Give the car in front of you some room and hope for the best.

The front brake that locks up is the one that is hitting last. That wheel is spinning faster and when the brake goes on it locks up. Does the left side have drag? More information . Wheel cylinders in rear-new? Check behind dust cover for leaks. Rear adjusters ok? Rear adjusted proper?

the scumbag f***ing redneck who i bought the stang from crimped the rear brake line going to the right rear tire I guess it was his way of fixing a leak, the right rear tire had no braking at all! This explains A LOT. Wait till I see this scumbag I think I still got his number and where he lives. Thanks for the help guys.

And this whole time im looking at the rear shoes front shoes new drum hardware new pads in all corners scratching my head like an idiot, never expecting a crimped brake line...dude...
