Default engine build, need some help with components

Im building a 331 with a Dart Iron Eagle block and im looking at Scat internals. Im having D and S assemble my short block in Troy MI but first im trying to buy everything else so I am ready to assemble when I pick it up. As of right now it is going to be NA at 9:1 and i just want to make sure the components im lookin at will be able to hold up to 800 wheel when i boost it.

Im going to be running my Twisted Wedge heads that i got to flow 235 cfm at .500 lift down at school. I also need help picking out a good cam for the engine being NA right now, I had a trick flow track max 303 in it before and im looking for more lift and duration right now. The goal is about 400 NA because i was 301 and 311 with my last 302.

Another concern is cooling on this block, will a high flow AL pump be good enough with a griffin all AL radiator and electric fan?

Thanks for the help and ill post pictures this winter as she is being built and put in. Ill also be looking for a good place to get a tune if anyone knows of any places around the detroit area.

9 to 1 is to much compression to boost it in hopes of 800 rwhp, you need to be around 8 to 8.5 to 1 and boost the snot out of it to hit 800 rwhp, you'd be better off having a custom cam designed for the amount of boost you plan, design the combo as if it were the final build/goal all at once, do it right to start at 9 to 1 you won't be able to run as much boost safely

Sounds like youre spending a lot of money on this, and if things go right it should be one hell of a car!

I would have gotten in touch with woody from ford strokers and jay allen from camshaft innovations from the get-go in this case.... they for sure would have put you in the right direction.

Yeah its going to be around 6 grand. I have not bought anything for the car yet. The last thing i buy will be my short block because i dont want that to be sitting around while i wait on the other parts to come in.

What about the cooling for a siamese bore block. Would an aluminum high flow pump and radiator be enough to keep it cool on the street? Its going to be a street/track car.

I think you're grossly underestimating the cost of your build, no properly built 800 rwhp ride I know of was done that cheap and reliable, my 347 assembly including cost of heads was 9k easy.....for your goal, not one stock piece even a bolt should be used and the best quality parts should be used, not ebay stuff or I gaurantee you'll fall well short of your goal and have a ticking time bomb, figure in a proffessisonal tune for a boosted ride proper ignition with boost retard capability, block = 2k plus machine 500-1000, heads you have, forged rotating assembly, 1500-2k, custom cam and matched/proper valvetrain parts ie titanium locks, retainers, springs, locators push rods, rockers 1500.00, gaskets, oiling system, bearings, good pan 500-600, proper intake for efi or carb?? 250-700....and I'm sure there are odds and ends I'm forgetting 8-9k will be more relistic and that doesn't figure in the turbo and all hardware to make it work.

IN TOTAL AGREEANCE HERE. You saying you want a dart shortblock alone is a 5000$ statement.
