last week, i managed to pull my entire dipstick tube out of the motor when i was putting on shorty headers. after taking the dipstick tube and comparing it to another 5.0 motor dipstick tube that i carefully removed from another mustang at a junk yard, it is very ovbious that mine managed to break off inside of the passage way which makes sense of why i couldnt get it to go back in in the first place. so now what??? do i have to drop out the oil pan to access it????? i havent tried running the dipstick tube that i got from the junk yard down into my car yet but i did notice that the end that goes in is a smaller diameter than the rest of the tube so i wonder if i would be able to ram the broken piece out of the way to where it would just fall and come to rest in the bottom of the oil pan where it would do no harm??? hell idk
tiny screwdriver and a small pair of needle nose should do the trick. Nothing is holding it in, its just there. Do what you can to pull it out. Last resort should be dropping the pan.
i dont know if i will really be able to pull it out since space is so limited. do you think it would do any harm if i just tried to push it down till it dropped to the bottom of the pan and just left it there???
best thing you can do is remove the header = 30 min of work, then get an easy out and twist it in until it grabs and put a pair of pliers on that and tap up with a hammer

thats not a good idea. best thing to do is what mjr46 said.
Don't make this harder than it has to be. I ran into the same problem and like I already said, I used a PAINT CAN OPENER. Had it out in 5 minutes without taking the header off and buying an easy out. Take my advice or don't, but here's a pic showing how simple it is.
