Default 347 stroker kit question

Question 1: The kit is a simple replacement of parts in a standard 302 block?

Question 2: What do i gain if i have it installed ? Hp,and other possibilities

Question 3: I have a single turbo from a friend that i plan to also have installed. Will i gain by having the 347 instead of the 302 in terms of a turbo?

Question 4: Lets say the kit and turbo are installed, i am assuming that's a fairly large hp gain so how do i get it to the ground . ? i have 3.73 gears and stock tires. and rims. What size tires would u recommend? Also What suspension upgrades do i need to put into my car.? control arms etc.

Question 5: Block of my 302 need to be bored/ sized to fit a 347 stroker kit or does it just fit right in ? And if it requires some form of boring what do you recommend as in style or type considering my car and teh turbo/347 kit.?

Question 6 : What else do i need to get this car to run properly and be realiable.? pressures, ratios, mafs crapetc??

Questiopn 7:I have gt40 heads now do i need to upgrade?

I understand these are alot of questions and it might take alot of time to answer them but i appreciate any time you put towards any question.
If you need any more info about the car let me know.
Thanks
Marcus

1. overbore on the cylinders , possible notching for rods.
2.depends on what's put in it .
3. refer to #2. also you may be able to run less boost then an identicle built 302
4.hard to say right now need more info
5.yes it needs to be bored also stock block only holds like 450-500 h.p safely with the proper tune etc..if you want big numbers get an aftermarket block.
6.get it tuned by a professional
7.i would definately get a better set of heads.

BLOCK MUST BE BORED and notched, ROTATING ASSEMBLY balanced and gains will all depend on the h/c/i used, and no you can't use gt-40 heads on a stroker, they are 302 parts!! well you could, if 302 power is what you desire out of a stroker

Your best off keeping it a 306 and putting those gt40 heads on and then put the turbo on. 347 plus boost=stockblock breakage...Do 347 build or a h/c/i +turbo you cant do both its too much power for the stock block.

H/C/I is short for heads, cam, and intake. Don't worry I'm new to this too and considering getting my block punched out to a 306, and possibly a supercharger afterwards.

a 347 on a stock block boosted can be done, but the tune must be on for reliability, best bet is build a good 302 with good heads, cam and intake and supporting mods and supercharge it, that's what I'm about to do

WOW, this is a great post.

I have been wondering the same since I want to build something as well. I have beem looking at some cars and asking questions but honestly have been a little scared about buying an already worked car. I have thought about buying a running SSP car that is for sale locally and that is in pretty good shape and having the motor worked and putting a turbo/supercharger in.

Is there any place better than others to buy the h/c/i from. I will do some checking on this forum to see what type of h/c/i people are recommending for a boosted build.
