I have an 89 lx with manual windows and locks. I bought a set of doors off a 90 gt convertible for another project. Can I use all the power window and power lock guts to convert my 89 to power? Everywhere I have looked said they don’t see why not but they have never done the swap. I would like to know defiantly before tearing into it. Also some say the vert door guts won't work on hatch back doors. Any help would be great.

you have to get new windows.manual windows and power windows have different plastic pieces at the bottom where the regulator slides in.

I have the glass from the 90 doors as well.

i didnt know if the vert glass was the same as a regular window

If you want I got a 88GT power everything windows motors actuators switches and door panels and it all works I would swap for manual in a heartbeat PM me if interested

Ok its two years later and I have still not tried the swap. Anyone done or know about this conversion? Can it be done?

I have not done such a conversion, but you could get a lot of info on the completeness of your harness for this by checking your car's ETVM manual. You can find these relatively cheap on EBAY. These manuals have the connect points and connector layouts for all the vehicle systems. That would give you a good idea of what it involves.
