Default Problem with brand new Spec 2 clutch

Installed it as I was redoing the top end of the engine. Still working out the kinks in the engine but took it out for a test drive today and noticed too things.

1.) Clutch is much softer than it was when i first installed it all of 10 miles ago.

2.) Hearing a light squeeling noise when the clutch is engaged. Goes away with the slightest pedal pressure. Sounds like a bad TOB, used the spec one. Grrrrr.

3.) Also noticed random bits of smoke that seem to come from the bellhousing. The volume of smoke makes me think clutch but I dont smell clutch.

Anyone else had these kind of problems?

the smoke is normal, its the kevlar burnishing

the clutch being softer is normal, the pressure plate is breaking in

my spec TOB squealed too, so I replaced it

^Any chance of a catastrophic failure if I just let it ride for a while? Obviously in no hurry to take the tranny back out.

sure is... the bearing can seize up and start spinning, which can either cause the clutch fork to be destroyed, or even take out the fingers on the pressure plate
