Default oil pump? or worse?

Well just recently i started having an oil pressure problem. on start up and for the first couple miles of driving (when its just getting warm) its fine. but after that, every time i come to a stop my pressure goes to 0. when im driving its fine, it does dip down a bit sometimes but never goes to 0. would this be a pump issue or just a bad sending unit or what? any help is appreciated! need to get my daily fixed lol

Get a manual pressure gauge to check the actual pressure. I have one perminately mounted under the hood with a tee for the sensor.

the stock gauge is inaccurate at best. the only way to know for sure is with a good quality mechanical gauge

low oil pressure is also a sign of worn out mains.

If what your guage says is true, your mains are wiped. Been there, done that... twice.

My car did the exact same thing. Mechanical gauge was put in, worst case was indeed the cause. Pulling the mains and all of them were burnt.

Get a gauge, check the pressure, hope for the best.

if that is the case and my bearings are shot then i might as well finish building my stroker and put it in there what would cause them to go out anyways? just miles and use on the motor?
