recently i've been hearing this strange whineding noise, at first i tought it was my transmission, but then i tracked down the noise to the front of my engine, i dont know if it's my fan clutch or what, it only happens when i accelerate. any ideas

Take off the belt and see if the noise is still there.

If it is wind, then possibly the fan. If it's a whine, I would suspect the power steering pump or idler pulley.

check the fluid level in the power steering pump

ps pump or idler pulley. is the ps low?

does ti get worse if you turn your steering wheel?

if yes, P/S pump

if no, remove your serpentine belt and check your pullies for play
