Default Gonna get heads and intak

I plan on getting a set of gt-40p iron heads and a trick flow track heat intakeand a mac 70mm throttle body onmy 91 mustang gt. Along with my ford racing 373 gears, mac shorty headers, mac off rode h-pipe, mac cat back exhaust system, mac underdrive pulleys, mac cold air intake. Car ran a 10.3 stock now it runs a 9.4 in the 1/8th of a mile. Anyone tell me what i should expect to drop off of my 1/8th of a mile time with the heads, intake, and throttle body???

5.0s are good no matter the mileage. you can do the cam swap at any time as long as the motor is up to shape. i have a 130k motor or atleast that is what the odometer says. i did a leak down and it read like a new motor. but back to the topic. yes the afrs are more but you need some serious head work to make those other heads flow a decent amount.which i think the afrs have some head work on them stock. i wouldnt go with the mac set up as far as the exhaust its a pore quality setup. my judgement is between my bbk h pipe and my buddies mac h pipe bends arent as smooth and just looks cheap. not saying the get bbk but it is better. i know the whole money thing sometimes. and what are you runing now. high 9s in the 1/8 that isnt right with any stang. that would equal a mid 14 1/4 time. a modded stang with traction and aggressive driver should easiy get into the 13s with no prob.<edited><editID>ohsoquik02</editID><editDate>37945.0405671296</editDate></edited>

aight sounds like good advice on the motor. what did u say u had done to ur motor to check it out? where can i get taht done and how much does it cost? i already have everything listed up there done to my car, headers, h-pipe, cat back, 3.73 gears, underdrive pulleys, and cold air intake. its an aod. and it ran a 10.3 when i bought the car. i think i got about what i should have with the mods i have made dropping .9 tenths of as econd from my 1/8th of a mile time. what do stock mustangs usually run aod and 5 speed? and is a 9.4 a high 9? i thought that would be considered a low 9. and what r they suppose to run stock in the 1/4 as well as the 1/8th?

i posted that info on times on different thread. as far as a leakdown. while you put compressed air into you cylinders and your given a certain percentage. like new is under 20 percent blowby if more than you have a worn motor. doesnt take long to do jsut pull out a plug hook up the gauge and blow. we check the front four of my motor and read extremely low. if you know a friend with the tool great if not a shop should charge by the hour which isnt no more than a half to do it. we did mine inlike 10min. but only check the front 4 if the front 4 are good and car checks out good the chances are the rear 4 are in good shape also.

If you're low on money right now, just get a set of good heads. Then get the rest of it as you go. No sense in wasting several hundred on marginally better than stock heads that you'll replace later. And the stock cam is good for over 300 hp so you really don't need to change it. Just my opinion.

if your that low on cash just buy some 1.72 rockers to help air flow then save for a nice used set of afr's...all this stuff can be transfered to the new engine....using a vacuum gauge will tell you all you need to know about your engine<edited><editID>vfast</editID><editDate>37945.5613657407</editDate></edited>
