Budget build

Budget build
Planning on upgrading my 88 lx some more over the winter. Just your run of the mill parts nothing special.. just something with durability that I can drive everyday and not worry about breaking down/drivability issues.
Plans:
GT40 heads
Cobra Intake
E303 cam (yeah I know not the best choice)
70 throttle body, MAF conversion, pullies, etc...
I also have 4.10 gears and some suspension mods as well..... you guys think I am going to be stuck looking at 13 second time slips with this combo?
Used the search and found some answers but just looking for some peps with a similar combo to chime in. Any advice is appreciated

Leave room in your budget, I'll tell you know. I started planning a budget build and then quickly blew the budget. I was looking at almost the exact same set up initially and then started growing arms, legs and heads. If you have suspension mods (depending) and maybe some drag radials I would think you could crack a high 12 if you're a good driver with a 5sp. There's a guy in my local club with stock heads with gt40 valves, stock cam, cobra intake, 3.73's running high 12's on dr's. Doable, but barely.

Already have a set of Drag radials and as far as suspension mods go I have:
4cly springs, Lakewood 90/10s
Southside machine control arms, Lakewood 50/50s, stock rear springs.
I was planning on getting a few things as well like you stated..lifters, pushrods, timing chain/gear, roller rockers or trying my luck with the stockers.

The other thing you could do to help out the E.T. (if that's what you're going for) is some weight reduction in the car as well. It's definitely possible, but you'll be right on the edge where weather could make or break you. It'll be fun though, drive it like ya stole it.
