How hard to install Headers/Exhaust?

How hard to install Headers/Exhaust?
I'm looking at getting some headers and new exhaust from front to back real soon. How hard is this? Is welding required?
I do currently have an exhaust leak which appears to have been caused by the A/C draining out right above (the drain hole is right above) where the exhaust manifold and front exhaust pipe are clamped together. The crack appears to be in the exhaust pipe, not the manifold. Anyway, I am concerned about this cracking headers or the replacement exhaust pipe.
Anyway, how hard is this and has anyone had the same thing happen with their 5.0L SN-95 Mustang? Would Ceramic headers be better in this case, or would it even matter? I am looking at the Ford Racing Shorty Header M-9430-C95 and the Ford Racing exhaust M-5230-M51.
Thanks in Advance...

RE: How hard to install Headers/Exhaust?
My LT headers were a lot easier to install then most people made it out to be. My cousin and I got them installed in 3 hours. Shorties would be a very simple install.

Unequal lenght shorty headers are a straight foward install, the hardest part is uaually getting the old pipes and headers off. The unequal lenght shorties are just like the factory headers, just bigger. the only welding you will have to do is on the catback, and usually that is just welding the tailpipes to the mufflers.

RE: How hard to install Headers/Exhaust?
Since I am going to be replacing the transmission with a stock remanufactured Ford AODE (I know, it is stock, but I have my reasons for this), I am thinking about going ahead and having the mechanic do the headers and exhaust for me. I figure it should be a little easier with the transmission out. Since I will go "all ford" and put on the Ford Racing Shortys on, the mechanic has told me they may not go on without removing the engine, which sounds like a load of bull to me...any comments out there?

He's full of ****. Shories are easy as cake to install, they might be a little harder in a sn95, but in my fox, i swapped them in and out withing 30-45 min top. Hes full of crap, most mechanics say stuff like that so they can charge you with 15 hours of labor when it takes about 2

you guys said it is easy enough to install unequal length but im wondering how much harder it iss to install equal length ones
btw do equal length make a lot more power over unequal in 5.0s

These guys are right, I have a 95GT and threw in some BBK shorties, piece of cake. If you get the unequal shorties, I would throw them in yourself before you have the tranny done, that way he can't give you any grief about the difficulty of it.
