Default Motor Mount Issue. Help!!

When i bought my mustang we realized that the motor mounts had supressed and it caused the fan to break, the shroud to break, and now i have found more problems. We dropped the car off to the local shop because we didnt have the tools needed and got a call later. The two back motormount bolts had broken in the block. we went down and the guy told us that he had tried to drill them out but he broke 4 bits trying to do so. the only thing that he could do was weld the mounts to the block. my dad was a machanic for 15 years and he said that it should hold up fine but im kinda on the edge. I had planned on painting the car and taking car of bodywork before rebuilding the engine (car has 133,XXX miles but runs like new) but now im starting to wonder if maybe i should rebuild now and take care of this problem. What do you guys think?

I think you should make the shop tow it to someone with real tools, or tell your current mechanic to stop using crap bits and get some real bits. the guy cant drill out broken bolts, i doubt he has what it takes to properly weld steel to iron.

The guy that did it was someone that ive never seen working there before. he didnt even know how to do an inspection on my car because he couldnt just "plug it into the computer to do the smog test." it all had to be done manually so im not going to trust him. im going to bring it to school to talk to the tech science teacher who has an 06'. hes gonna help me check everything with the mounts but im still worried about the missing bolts

get adder to do the work.

the motor will need to be pulled an put on a stand if the motor mount bolts broke off in the block.

Its a lot of work, but just welding them to the car like you said the guy did is retarded.
