Default my 1986 mustang, e brake question

hello everyone. i want to know if i can use the center console from an 87- 93 mustang in my 86? the only problem i for see is the e brake assembly needing to moved a couple of inches.

Has anyone done this with success?

That and it wouldn't line up with the dash at all.

I plan on changing the dash too. as well as the doors. I like the newer interiors more.

so why not just buy an 87+? instead of butchering a foureye...

+1 I really like the 86 interior. If it's busted up or something then just repair it. (Not sure how many years had that interior)

I thought about buying an 87+ because it would make things easier but i have this is the car that i have and the drive train is in good shape. I bought this thing for 500 bucks last year. I haven't found and 87+ in good shape for a cheap starting price.
